Africa-Press – Botswana. Member of Parliament for Tati East, Tlhabologo Furniture, has announced a significant infrastructure investment of close to P4 million aimed at tackling pressing development challenges in the constituency during the 2025/2026 financial year.
The funding, which comes from the Constituency Community Project Fund, is targeted at improving access to clean water and enhancing road infrastructure across Tati East—a region that has long grappled with issues of water scarcity and poor road conditions.
Addressing local stakeholders, MP Furniture revealed that P1.3 million has been allocated for the procurement of a water bowser, which will be instrumental in distributing water to remote and underserved communities. This initiative is expected to bring much-needed relief to residents who often face difficulties accessing potable water, especially during dry seasons.
In addition to water provision, P2.4 million will be used to acquire a motor grader, a heavy-duty machine crucial for the maintenance and upgrading of local roads. This investment is anticipated to ease transport challenges and support economic activities by improving access within the constituency, particularly in rural and agricultural zones.
Furniture emphasized the importance of these developments, stating that improved road networks and access to water are not only essential for daily life but are also key to unlocking the economic potential of Tati East. He reaffirmed his commitment to delivering tangible improvements to constituents through effective use of public funds.
The announcement has been welcomed by residents and local leaders, who view it as a positive step toward addressing long-standing infrastructure deficits in the area.
With implementation expected to begin soon, the projects are poised to make a direct impact on the livelihoods of the people of Tati East—marking a significant stride in the constituency’s journey toward sustainable development and improved service delivery.
