Africa-Press – Botswana. Tsela Riders Cycling club will on February 11 host its first cycling road race of the year at Fikeng.
The race will feature all categories including the youth, junior, Under-23, elite, veterans, masters and grand masters.
“It is a free race for our members as well as the youth and women and girls because we want to encourage cycling,” said Tsela Riders club chairperson, Charles Vaughan in an interview.
Vaughan said they were allowing only the youth, women and girls from other clubs as well as the public to ride for free.
Vaughan also noted that the elite, veterans and Under 23 categories would ride 106km while women junior category would tackle 90km and the youth 60km. Vaughan said the race would be used to ascertain their fitness levels and to prepare for the new cycling season.
