Africa-Press – Botswana. United Congregational Church of Southern Africa (UCCSA) and Spiritual Healing Church leadership have been applauded for coming up with means of generating funds, to enable them to complete church structures.

The UCCSA and Spiritual Healing Church on July 23 held a joint 10 kilometre sponsored walk in Shoshong where Vice President, Mr Tsogwane was the chief walker.

He said though members prayed daily, it was important they went to church on Sunday for spiritual nourishment hence the need to build churches.

Mr Tsogwane thanked the leadership of the two churches for their foresight, saying they were propelled by the Holy Spirit and demonstrated their leadership prowess. He said though they were of different denominations, they served the same God and appealed to them to preach against Gender-Based Violence and prevent more lives being lost.

The Vice President implored the nation to seek refuge in Jesus Christ of Nazareth who prevailed against all odds and challenges.

Be resilient in the face of challenges because no challenge which is permanent and instead view challenges as a path to greatness, Mr Tsogwane stated.

Member of Parliament for Shoshong constituency, Mr Aubrey Lesaso, said proceeds from the sponsored would complete structures of the two churches both of which were at roofing level.

He said the University of Botswana Chancellor, Dr Tebelelo Seretse donated P50 000, Mr Tsogwane P10 000 and churches also received an additional P5 000, bringing the total of P65 000.

Kgosi Felix Kgamane of Shoshong applauded the move by the two churches and said such promoted unity.

Pastor Amantle Sekwati of UCCSA said they were on a mission to complete the church structures.
