TSOGWANE URGES BATSWANA TO MAKE USE OF TEMO LETLOTLO

Africa-Press – Botswana. Vice President Mr Slumber Tsogwane has urged Batswana to take up Temo Letlotlo to reduce the country’s high food import bill.

Mr Tsogwane, who was addressing a kgotla meeting in Orapa on Wednesday stated that climatic conditions and soil fertility in Botswana were the same as in the neighbouring countries, but they had higher food security.

He said Temo Letlotlo was aimed at improving food security at both household and national level.

Mr Tsogwane stated that the aim was to make Temo Letlotlo outcome-based so that it could have impact on the local economy.

He explained that Temo Letlotlo offered Batswana guaranteed loans, urging Debswana employees to apply for loans and buy tractors.

Mr Tsogwane cautioned that people should not attempt to access the funds for unintended purposes.

He also informed residents that wages for unskilled labour had been reviewed to P1500.
