Africa-Press – Botswana. It was all happiness as the Vice President, Mr Slumber Tsogwane graced lunch and gift presentation for the Makalamabedi elders at the village Kgotla on Boxing Day.
At the event , which was sponsored by KBL, people aged 70 and above reveived food hampers as well as free lunch.
Mr Tsogwane said the event came at the right time because history had it that December 26 or Boxing Day was a day for gift sharing.
Mr Tsogwane said it was important and refreshing for old people to once in a while converge under one roof and reminisce about old days because they hardly met, hence events such as the Christmas lunch.
In future, the Vice President said the same event would be extended to villages such as Xhumo, Mmadikola and Toromoja among others.
On behalf of Makalamabedi elders, Mr Kedidimetse Rantshabi commended Mr Tsogwane for the philanthropic gestures that he often extended to the people of his constituency.
