Africa-Press – Botswana. Letlhakane hosted the commemoration of World Day for Safety and Health at Work.
Held under the theme: Revolutionizing Health and Safety; the Role of AI and Digitisation at Work, the event will be held at Lucara Stadium.
Minister of Labour and Home Affairs Major General Pius Mokgware was the guest speaker at the commemoration. Chairperson of the local organising committee, Ms Tebogo Gagoangwe stated in an interview that the objective of the event was to establish the role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and digitisation at work.
She said the commemoration would consider the advantages and disadvantages brought about by AI in the workplace, establishing how AI had enhanced work and how it had affected the lives of people at work. The event will start at 6am with a 10km walk from Letlhakane Rural Administration Centre to Lucara stadium and activities of the day include aerobics and first aid simulation by different organisations.
