Africa-Press – Botswana. The senior national football team, the Zebras is scheduled to face the Lions of Chinguetti of Mauritania on Friday in a historic AFCON qualifier game at Francistown’s Obed Itani Chilume Stadium.
At six points Zebras need three points to make it to the AFCON finals slated for Morocco next year.

Both the Zebras players and the technical team understand the importance of winning the clash on their own turf.
Zebras coach Morena Ramoreboli said they were preparing well to face the Lions of Chinguetti with more focus on tactics.
“I am transitioning well in that at the national level, I have to deal with more sessions that addresses technical and tactical problems, so we have been trying to work on that,” he said.
He said the game presented an opportunity for the country to make history and qualify for AFCON 2025.
“The responsibility is huge and we can’t take things light. This means that we have to put more effort in trying to maintain the highest level of competitiveness and I think we are getting there,” he said.

“We played against Cape Verde under a lot of pressure and we managed to win, that alone motivated the team. The win has demonstrated that we can equally compete,” he said.
