Africa-Press – Cape verde. The President of the Republic of São Tomé and Príncipe, Carlos Vila Nova, will be on an official visit to Cape Verde from November 27 to 30, with the agenda of strengthening ties of friendship and cooperation between the two states.
According to a note from the Presidency of the Republic, Carlos Vila Nova will arrive in Cape Verde on Monday, accompanied by the First Lady, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and the President of the Regional Government of Príncipe.
“It will be an opportune moment to reinforce dialogue and bilateral and multilateral cooperation between the two sister archipelagos, which continue to face challenges as Small Island States united by language, by Creole Atlantic culture, but also by the long-suffering struggles and permanent searches for a dignified and sovereign way”, says the same source.
The program begins with a meeting between the two heads of state, on Monday morning, followed by the laying of a wreath at the memorial of Amílcar Cabral, an intervention in the National Assembly and a meeting with the Prime Minister.
The program also includes a visit to a series of institutions, including universities and Inpharma, and a meeting with the Santomean community in Cape Verde.
