Africa-Press – Cape verde. The Portuguese ambassador delivered this Monday, as a result of a partnership with Cape Verde, 6.7 tons of powdered milk for the most vulnerable populations, taking into account the “triple crisis” in the country archipelago, and about 19 thousand books.
Speaking to the press, on board the Portuguese Navy ship, which was available to transport the donations, the Portuguese ambassador, António Moniz, recalled that the delivery of donations takes place within the framework of the existing cooperation between these two countries.
“The food aid of 6.7 tonnes of powdered milk is enough to produce 90,000 liters and this donation is also the result of what was agreed with the Minister of Foreign Affairs on the last official trip he made to Cape Verde”, he said.
On the occasion, he explained that they are intended for the most vulnerable population of Cape Verde as a way of circumventing the triple crisis, that is, the drought, the invasion of Ukraine and the pandemic, which left the country in a weaker situation, hence justifying this solidarity gesture. from Portugal.
