Africa-Press – Cape verde. The West African Coastal and Marine Conservation Regional Program (PRCM) will support the Tartaruga Boa Vista (PTBV) project, with funding of 530,000 euros, a source from the MAA said today.
The information was provided to Inforpress by the delegate of the Ministry of Environment and Agriculture (MAA) in Boa Vista, Xisto Baptista, who spoke of the Tartaruga Boa Vista project that this year ended its funding that had been supported since 2017 by the MAVA Foundation.
“The good news is the fact that the work that has been done in recent years will continue with the second phase of funding for the Regional Program for Coastal and Marine Conservation in West Africa”, he said, specifying that the funding will amount to 530 thousand euros, for the horizon 2023-2026.
Xisto Baptista explained that the PRCM is a marine conservation project in the West African area that had already financed projects in the environmental and maritime sector, and that the second phase of this will allow NGOs, institutions, and the MAA delegation to continue the work that has been carried out in the conservation and protection of sea turtles.
