Handball World Cup: Bed of six Cape Verdean players collapsed in Sweden – “They had to change hotels”

Africa-Press – Cape verde. Six players from the Cape Verdean handball team had to change hotels, in Sweden, after the wooden bunk beds collapsed. The situation is described by the Swedish newspaper “Aftonbladet” as embarrassing.

Apparently, the bunk beds in the hotel could not have supported the weight of the six players and ended up collapsing. The situation, of course, created embarrassment in Gothenburg, where the Blue Sharks meet, forcing a change of hotel.

“Some of the players are two meters tall and weigh more than 100 kilos. However, they had to lie down on wooden bunks. They fell together,” Cape Verdean Nilton Delgado explained to the Swedish newspaper.

small and disorganized

The Cape Verde team for the handball world cup, according to Nilton Delgado, is “small and disorganized”, which made him help the team in the preparations.

Cape Verde makes its debut in the World Handball Championship today, against Uruguay, at 4pm in Cape Verde.

The Swedish newspaper takes Cape Verde’s victory for granted because, as it says, Uruguay is among the absolute worst teams in the entire World Cup.
