Africa-Press – Cape verde. The national men’s handball team lost , today, to the Portuguese counterpart and has no chance of qualifying for the quarter-finals of the competition. The match played at Scandinavum Arena, in Sweden , had a balanced first half, but in the second half, Portugal was superior and ended up winning by a difference of 12 goals (35-23) .
This is the second defeat of the Cape Verdean national team in this competition phase (Main Round), whose participation of the Tubarões Azuis ends on Sunday, 22nd, against the Hungarian national team.
Sweden, with one game less, leads this Cape Verde poule with six points, followed by Portugal (five points), Iceland (four points, with one game less), Brazil (three points, with one game less) Hungary (two points, minus one game) and Cape Verde, without any points.
