Africa-Press – Cape verde. Cape Verdean seafarers can, from now on, work on ships flying the flag of the Netherlands and Latvia. The agreement was established by the Cape Verdean Maritime and Port Institute (IMP) with these two respective countries.
According to a publication by IMP, cited by Inforpress, with this agreement established with the maritime administrations of both countries, Cape Verdean seafarers can work on ships under these flags, with certificates issued by the Cape Verdean institution.
“Thus expanding job opportunities”, he emphasized, recalling that in the recent past similar agreements had already been signed with Belgium, Luxembourg, Portugal, Malta and Cyprus.
At the moment, Cape Verde has agreements with 14 countries.
The IMP ensures that it is in contact with other maritime administrations with the aim of establishing new agreements.
