Africa-Press – Cape verde. The Figueirense team, Football Champion of the Island of Maio, tied, this Sunday afternoon, at two balls, with the Varandinha do Tarrafal de Santiago team, two-time regional football champion in North Santiago.
The formation from the locality of Figueira Horta was even winning by two balls to zero, but ended up wasting this advantage, allowing the tie to the Tarrafalense team that obtained the two goals through the penalty kick mark.
Figueirense’s goals were scored by Leça, in the 9th minute, and by Micá, in the 46th minute.
Varandinha scored the two equalizing goals in the second half by Kalanga, through a penalty kick and by Dery, also from a penalty kick.
In the next round, Varandinha will host Morabeza, champion of the island of Brava, while Figueirense will go to São Vicente to play with Académica do Mindelo, who defend the title of champion of Cape Verde won last season (2021-2022 ).
