Africa-Press – Cape verde. Researcher and university professor Silvino Évora advocated today for a more in-depth and factual study of the history of social communication and pointed out the University of Cabo Verde as a platform to initiate this study.
The statement was made in an interview with the press on the sidelines of the 1st Cape Verdean Colloquium on the History of Communication and Media, organized by the Faculty of Social Sciences, Humanities and Arts (FCSHA) of the University of Cabo Verde (Uni-CV).
“Effectively, what we have had so far are small isolated works, and we believe that we do not have great researchers or research teams in the field of media history in Cabo Verde,” observed Silvino Évora, arguing that it is time to take the first steps in this matter.
“The first step is to start having the key figures speak about their experiences and the idea is to bring more people in the coming years to discuss other sectors of communication such as radio, print media, digital media, and journalism as a profession,” pointed out Silvino Évora, who is the coordinator of the Science and Communication course at Uni-CV.
