Africa-Press – Cape verde. The Installation Committee of the Association of Women Scientists of Cape Verde was created this Friday in Mindelo. The aim is to promote research and knowledge to solve social problems and feed higher education.
Speaking to Inforpress, the representative of the association’s Installation Commission, Isabel Lobo, explained that it is a Cape Verdean association essentially aimed at women scientists, but that does not exclude gender diversity and members of the scientific communities of the Cape Verdean diaspora. .
“One of the reasons has to do with a great need that is felt, at the moment, at the level of higher education and at the level of other instances of knowledge production, for there really to be a group or some entity, for there to be research essentially aimed at solving of social problems and of feedback from the higher education system itself”, he advanced.

According to Isabel Lobo, the association will serve above all to promote knowledge and value, within the latest currents for the visibility of women, so that there can be capitalization, an added value in terms of research in science and information technologies.
For the coming years, he added, the commission will have to work to effectively become an association. However, a meeting of all members of the Portuguese-speaking world is planned for next year.
