Africa-Press – Cape verde. The Asa Stars and Paiol teams are in the final of the Santiago Sul regional championship in senior men’s handball, referring to the 2022-2023 season.
In the semi-final games, played at the Vavá Duarte pavilion, in Cidade da Praia, ASA Stars beat Girassol by 27-22, while Paiol defeated Desportivo da Praia, after winning by 26-22.
With these results, the two teams will represent Santiago Sul in the national championship of the category, to be played from June 26th to July 2nd, in the city of Sal-Rei, Boa Vista.
Division of the national championship groups:
Group A: Boa Vista, Santiago Sul and Sal
Group B: North Santiago, São Vicente, São Nicolau
Group C: Asa Stars (champion), Fogo and Santo Antão
The top three classified plus the best second place among the three groups advance to the semi-finals.
