Africa-Press – Cape verde. The MpD’s lead candidate for São Nicolau, Eneida Morais, reaffirmed this Sunday, the 26th, her commitment to the modernization and expansion of the Tarrafal port, an initiative aimed at improving the transport sector.
In statements to Inforpress during the presentation of her list for the São Nicolau electoral district, in Tarrafal, Eneida Morais spoke of the need for interventions to expand and modernize the port, highlighting the impact these interventions will have on the transport sector, as well as on improving the circulation of people and goods.
“We recognize the need for port expansion and we want to insist on this project, which already exists, and we want to see its implementation for the improvement of the lives of the island’s population,” she said.
Regarding other interventions for the municipality of Tarrafal, the candidate argued that it is necessary to “continue” investing in the housing sector, especially for young people and low-income families.
According to the candidate, the requalification of the coastline, a project that is in its final stages, intensified water catchment, and more investment in the fishing sector are part of the MpD’s proposals.
“Our mission is to be the voice of the people of São Nicolau in the National Assembly and to ensure that the Government’s platform is implemented, providing better living conditions for the population,” she emphasized.
Also in an interview with Inforpress, the national leader of the MpD, Abraão Vicente, highlighted that the head of the MpD list for the May 17th legislative elections has a “remarkable” career and will best represent the interests of the people.
