Africa-Press – Cape verde. The African Party for the Independence of Cabo Verde (PAICV, opposition) held on Sunday, in São Miguel, an assembly with the party’s militants of that municipality in Santiago, aiming to prepare them for the 2024 local elections.
The initiative, which is a party guideline, and which will be extended to the other municipalities of the Santiago Norte region and at a national level, aims, among other objectives, to make known the work action strategies of this major opposition party, facing the upcoming electoral challenges, in particular the municipal elections of 2024.
Speaking to Inforpress today to take stock of the PAICV militant assembly in São Miguel, the president of the PAICV Regional Political Commission (CPR) in Santiago Norte, Carla Carvalho, said the party hopes to count on all militants, sympathisers and the population to win this city council, the only one in the region that the PAICV has not yet had the opportunity to govern.
At the moment, the PAICV manages two of the six city councils in the Santiago Norte region, namely Santa Cruz and Tarrafal.
