MpD accuses coordinator of the general inspection of the Tourism and Environment Fund of having diverted reports for partisan interests

Africa-Press – Cape verde. The MpD accused today the former technician of the Inspectorate-General of Finance, Renato Fernandes, of having diverted the “project” of the reports on tourism and environment funds, for partisan interests to create “a political theater”.

In a press conference, the secretary general of the Movement for Democracy (MpD, power), Luís Carlos Silva, said that this former coordinator of the “alleged report” is currently an employee at Praia City Council and took parts or a draft report with him. That “were not finalised, were not validated and were not homologated.

The MpD leader stressed that “this conduct raises serious concerns about the integrity and impartiality of the inspection process”, but that “if there is any matter that constitutes illegal acts, those responsible will be held accountable”.

In response to the press conference of the president of the PAICV (opposition), Rui Semedo, given the day before, Luís Carlos Silva made a point of “clarifying” that so far there is no official report, approved and ratified by the Minister of Finance and that it is premature to say that the document in question contains irregularities.
