Praia: Electra inaugurates a new store on the farm to “better serve” customers

Africa-Press – Cape verde. Electra inaugurated this Friday afternoon, 16th, a new store in Fazenda, Praia. The new post, located at Largo dos Bombeiros and Câmara Municipal, with better conditions and innovative services, is estimated to serve 15,000 customers a month in the Farm and neighboring areas.

In the opening act, Electra’s PCA Luís Teixeira advanced that the focus on this store is to reduce bureaucracy, improve customer service, and above all, monitor the digital transition.

“This new store will have other innovative services, at this stage when Electra is in digital transition and modernization. We have just launched a Contact Center in partnership with Unitel T+ to improve customer service. In addition to the voice, we will have, by SMS, the connection with our social networks in this Contact Center”, he advanced.

Control prepaid consumption from your mobile phone

This partnership also includes, according to Teixeira, launching the “+ Electra” application that will allow customers, from their mobile phones, an application with services, namely, to control the consumption of their prepaid energy, throughout the month.

All this, with the idea of making people less and less dependent on physical stores to pay their energy bills.

Luiz Teixeira also advanced that on this path “towards the digital transformation of Electra”, the company will have an academy in the Technological Park that, in addition to training young people in this field, will also pay special attention to the issue of energy efficiency in combating losses, one of Electra’s main challenges.

Annual losses amount to PTE 3 million

On this specific issue, Electra’s PCA advanced that combating losses is a major challenge for the company, having indicated that every year, the company is losing more than three million escudos – energy that Electra produces without billing.

“If we don’t win this challenge, we are jeopardizing energy economic sustainability because we are going to have more expensive energy and water. Without the island of Santiago, the average of the 7 islands that Electra has, the losses are between 11 and 12%, a good order. But, when we include Santiago, this average shoots up to levels of 25%, which is a lot since Santiago has 36%, and Praia, in particular, has a huge weight in terms of losses”, advanced the PCA.

Therefore, Teixeira says that losses due to fraud and energy theft require several fronts, not only the legal framework (law that punishes this practice) but also through partnerships with institutions, economic operators, media , etc.

Technology and innovation in the fight against losses

For his part, the Secretary of State for the Digital Economy, Pedro Lopes, who was representing the government at the inauguration of the new store, congratulated Electra on the investment, recalling that the energy transaction has been one of the banners of his government.

Pedro Lopes challenged people to pay the bills, reiterating that technology and innovation will help Electra fight losses.

It should be noted that the new Electra store on the farm, like the IGAE, expects to receive, monthly, around 15,000 customers from the locations of Fazenda, Paiol, Achadinha, Várzea, Ponta d ́água, Lém Ferreira, Vila Nova, calabaceira , between others.
