Africa-Press – Cape verde. The parish priest of Brava Island, Friar José Garcia, announced that the works of the parish church of Nossa Senhora do Monte have already started, and asks for the involvement of the entire community so that they do not return to to stop.
Speaking to Inforpress, this official stressed that the construction of this church has been a concern and the desire of all parish priests who have been to the island, but what has always been lacking is courage because there is no money to start the works.
According to this religious, this work is long awaited and a necessity because being in a place without a parish church is a big concern for those who are going to attend and for those who celebrate mass.
“Since I arrived in Brava in 2021, I have not found the parish church in the parish and since then we have been celebrating in a place that was made available, hoping to meet the minimum conditions to restart the works in terms of economy, personnel, documentation”, advanced the official, reinforcing that at this moment the works that will be carried out in phases have already started.
