Africa-Press – Cape verde. The Porto Novo City Council intends to build, by 2024, one or more blocks of social housing to alleviate the housing deficit in the municipality, where more than three thousand families need “a decent roof”.
A city council document that Inforpress had access to says that the search for funding for the construction of housing blocks is one of the city council’s priority actions for the rest of the mandate, which ends in 2024.
“One of the priority projects for the future is to seek financing for the construction of one or more social housing blocks to meet the enormous demand,” said the same source.
In partnership with the Government, the Porto-Novo city council has been carrying out a housing recovery programme since 2016, which includes more than 200 homes per year.
