Africa-Press – Cape verde. The Minister of Justice, Joana Rosa, who is on duty in Strasbourg, France, participates today in the 28th Plenary Meeting of the Cyber Crimes Convention Committee (T-CY), informs a note of the Government.

According to the statement, the event aims to sign the additional protocol to the Budapest Convention on Cybercrime and the protocol amending Convention 108 on the automated processing of personal data.

“Since 2017, Cabo Verde has been an active part in the purposes of preventing and fighting cybercrime at national level, with legislative interventions, accession to the Budapest Convention on cybercrime, realizations, receptions and participations in training actions on cybercrime and digital evidence, but also with the installation of the National Commission of Glacy+ at international level, with participations in training actions and international conferences on this matter and in the meetings of the Committee of the Convention on Cybercrime and the Plenary of Glacy+, at the Council of Europe”, she recalls

In view of this scenario, she argues, the States must be equipped with adequate instruments that allow the legitimate collection of electronic evidence, without which, he warns, it will be difficult to achieve the pre-established results.
