Africa-Press – Cape verde. MPD deputy Orlando Dias criticised today the difficult system implemented at the Common Visa Centre, saying that the Government cannot allow Cape Verdeans to be humiliated in the visa booking process.
The deputy from the Movement for Democracy (MpD, power) made these statements during the period of general questions, when he reacted to the statements by the deputy from the African Party for the Independence of Cabo Verde (PAICV) João do Carmo on the process of scheduling visas for Portugal, in São Vicente.
According to Orlando Dias, Cape Verdeans are experiencing “great humiliation” because they are not even managing to schedule visa applications at the Common Visa Center in Cabo Verde.
“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Cabo Verde has to call the ambassador of Portugal and talk to him about it, it is not meddling in Cabo Verde’s relations with Portugal, it is defending our citizens. What is happening now is unacceptable”, he declared.
