UNTC-CS demands the Government to immediately replenish funds withdrawn from the INPS during the covid-19 pandemic

Africa-Press – Cape verde. The National Union of Cabo Verde Workers – Central Union (UNTC-CS) today demanded the Government to immediately restore the resources withdrawn from the INPS during the covid-19 pandemic, which were mobilised by international partners.

The general secretary of the trade union organization, Joaquina Almeida, who was speaking this morning, at a press conference, in Praia, recalled that the revenues mobilized by international partners to face the covid-19, exceed 13 billion escudos, against an expense of just over 4 billion escudos, according to the report of the Court of Auditors, which is at the Public Ministry for investigation.

For the unionist, the Government has to return taxpayers’ resources to the INPS treasury and, in addition, say what it did with the approximately nine billion escudos it received from international partners.

The same source stressed that UNTC-CS “will not rest” until every penny withdrawn from social security funds is returned.
