Africa-Press – Cape verde. The vice prime minister reaffirmed today that he doesn’t see anything “very special” in the inspection reports of the Tourism and Environment Funds, stressing that if there are responsibilities to be taken, they will be taken in accordance with the law, whoever they may be.
Olavo Correia, who is also Minister of Finance, was speaking during a parliamentary hearing he was subject to today at the Specialized Committee on Finance and Budget on the inspection reports on the Environment and Tourism funds, in the periods 2017 to 2020.
The governor said that the report pointed out failures and irregularities in all 22 municipalities that, he acknowledged, should be corrected to improve the management of funds.
“The improvement is a progressive and constant process and we all have to be humble to recognize where there are failures so that they can be corrected and we can improve governance and transparency in Cabo Verde”, he said.
