Africa-Press – Cape verde. The Union of Cape Verdean Students of Lisbon (UECL) promoted throughout the day of this Sunday, the 9th, in the Portuguese capital, an arraial to commemorate the 48th anniversary of National Independence, marked on the 5th of July , with a positive balance.
To Inforpress, the president of UECL, Edson da Veiga, said today that the festival, which took place at the Parochial Church of Alfornelos, featured art, music, traditional games, traditional foods and a debate on “Past, present and future of Cabo Verde” and it was a “success”.
“We had an excellent turnout, it was a real Cabo Verde party (…). It was quite good and the feedback was positive. The idea is to do it annually and starting next year, maybe make a team with all the people who want to support and make something regular here in Lisbon”, he stressed.
According to the same, the debate on “Cabo Verde’s past, present and future” had as speakers José L. Hopffer Almada, Andredina Cardoso and Eveline Almeida, and was attended by the ambassador of Cape Verde in Portugal, Eurico Monteiro.
