Africa-Press – Cape verde. Cape Verdean international Paralympic athlete Marilson Semedo competes today in the final of the World Para-Athletics Championship “World Para Athletics Championships Paris 2023′′ in the F57 javelin throwing discipline at Charléty Stadium, in Paris (France).
Marilson told Inforpress that he feels confident to be able to improve his brand and to be among the best in the world competing for the javelin throw title.
Marilson Semedo, athlete from São Domingos, in the interior of the island of Santiago, qualified Saturday for the final alongside Cuban Gerdar Fonseca Bernal (39.10), Kenyan Mangerere James Onyinka (35.99), Lithuanian Rojus Ramunas (32.58) and Argentinian Gimenez Reinoso with 32.03.
Heidilene premieres Wednesday
Meanwhile, the athlete Heidilene Oliveira and her guide Jailson de Oliveira accredited in the 100, 200 and 400 meters dash, Class T12, make their debut on Wednesday the 12th, while Gracelino Barbosa, world champion and athlete Cape Verde’s most famous Paralympic athlete ever, makes his debut on Friday, the 14th, in the 400 meter dash, Classe raso, Classe T20.
The Cape Verdean delegation is led by the head of this mission, Jailma Oliveira.
