Inforpress, in a round made to some areas of the municipalities of North Santiago, namely São Salvador do Mundo and Santa Catarina, found that farmers who had not thrown the seeds into the ground in late June or early July started this Monday to agricultural work.
In Santa Catarina, in the localities of Ribeirão Manuel and Chã de Tanque, the men and women of the field have already started the first weeding, hoping that in the coming days there will be more precipitation.
However, throughout the region, there are peasants who are waiting for more rain to throw seeds on the ground, fearing the invasion of wild hens and crows, which, according to them, are already eating the seeds in the holes.
