Africa-Press – Cape verde. A total of 150 national athletes participate in this year’s edition of the Santo Antão Triangle Trail, which runs from September 29th to October 1st. Registration is now closed, which for the organization means that the sport has gained importance in Cape Verde.
The race, which has the participation of athletes from all the islands of Cape Verde, starts on Friday, 29th, in Ribeira Grande, with the first stage, passing through Paul, with a second stage, and ends on Sunday, 1st of October, in the municipality of Porto Novo, with the last stage.
In each of the three stages, the race has the main trail, the youth trail, the kids trail and walking.
The organization highlights that the event has allowed an exponential increase in the number of male and female participants, while promoting the competitiveness and preparation of athletes throughout the year.
This year the Santo Antão Triangle Trail will take place simultaneously with the International Nature Tourism Conference, which will take place on the island of Santo Antão, on September 29th.

The conference will take some world experts in nature and adventure tourism to the mountain island, with the aim of discussing the diversification of tourism in Cape Verde and the need to create sustainable tourist offers, which enhance communities and take advantage of endogenous resources. from the country.
The municipalities of Santo Antão have welcomed the holding of this sporting and tourist event, part of the Cabo Verde Trail Series circuit and which has made this island “a reference” in mountain sports.
Santo Antão Triangle Trail is an event integrated into the Cape Verde Trail Series, a project developed by the company In Totum lda and the Institute of Sports and Youth.
