Through a statement published on its social network page, the Electricity Company – Electra informs that “the breakdown in one of the highest power generating groups has already been resolved and the normalization of the Fire situation has resumed”, adding that “small occasional outages and scheduled will occur temporarily, due to maintenance being resumed for completion”.
In the statement, Electra praised the “hard” work, day and night without interruption by the local team with international remote support and all the financial and logistical efforts of the company with the sending of parts and technical reinforcement, highlighting the partner CVinterilhas for its availability in transporting parts for the island of Fogo.
“To our customers and the population of the island of Fogo in general, Electra thanks all the understanding, support and affection shown during these days”, highlighting that the company is and will always be with the population.
It is recalled that the Central Única do Fogo, which supplies energy to the island’s three municipalities, began operating in November 2015 and has two groups of generators, with a capacity of 1,600 kva each, one of which is undergoing maintenance and the other which suffered technical problems in the early hours of Monday, October 30th and has already been repaired.
Operating simultaneously, the two groups have enough energy available to cover all the villages on the island of Fogo.
