
Africa-Press – Cape verde. The new president of the National Police Union (Sinapol), Arlindo Jorge Duarte, promised this Sunday, during his inauguration, to work together with the administration and the Government to resolve the problems affecting the class.
According to Inforpress, the issue of working hours and services, the “very small” number of people that results in a large deficit in the operationalization of the command plan are the major challenges identified by the new leader of Sinapol, which promises as the first actions of his management dialogue with all parties, aiming to chart a better path for the union.
Having emerged from the last elective general elections held on November 19th, in which two lists competed, the new management team, according to its president, considers that alternation is necessary in democracy, which is why it intends to work with the public authorities and “ not fight ” to strengthen the class.
Considering that the outgoing president, José Barbosa, “ has already done a lot ”, Arlindo Duarte said that “ it was now time for new ideas and new teams ”, highlighting that he is at the head of a list, capable of promoting change and envision a better future for this union organization.
Established in 2015, the date on which it was affiliated with the National Union of Workers of Cape Verde – Central Sindical, (UNTC-CS), Sinapol, according to its new president, has as major milestones its own constitution and the national strike carried out at the end of 2018.
Born in Santo Antão, Arlindo Jorge Duarte is deputy chief of the National Police, currently part of the Intervention corps in São Vicente and joined the ranks of the National Police 15 years ago.
