Africa-Press – Cape verde. The number of passengers at Cape Verde’s airports and airfields grew 13% in November, to more than 241 thousand, compared to the same month last year, according to official data consulted today by Lusa.According to data from the Civil Aviation Agency (AAC), last month the movement of passengers at airports and airfields was 241,319, while in November 2022 it was 213,565.
In relation to the monthly variation, the increase was 23.3%.
As for the movement of aircraft, in November it stood at 2,506, 8% more compared to the same month of 2022 and 15.8% more compared to October.
With regard to cargo movement, in November the archipelago’s airports and airfields handled 76,623 tons, an increase of 13.5% compared to the same month in 2022 and 19% more compared to October.
Mail movement also increased in the country, to 38,974 tons, 19.5% more compared to November last year and 14.3% compared to the previous month.
The archipelago’s four international airports and three aerodromes registered a movement of 2,177,611 passengers on domestic and foreign flights throughout 2022, an increase of 162% compared to 830,240 in 2021.
The Cape Verdean Government signed, on July 18, 2022, a public airport service concession contract to the Vinci group, involving the management for 40 years of the archipelago’s four international airports and three aerodromes, an agreement already in force and for which the State will receive 80 million euros and the operator will also have to pay a percentage of gross revenues annually.
