According to information provided by the president of the Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) to Inforpress, this is a recognition that they intend to give to the artist for his social intervention in defense of human rights and citizenship.
“Batchart’s music contains positive messages that encourage good practices in society, so this public recognition for the artist makes perfect sense”, explained Orlando Lima.
The delivery of the certificate of excellence is scheduled for December 28th, at the Mindelo Cultural Center, and with the presence of the winner.
The title has also been awarded by the Active Citizenship Observatory to citizens Germano Almeida (writer, in 2019), Tommy Melo (Biosfera – 2020), Lourença Tavares (Acrides – 2021) and Isabel Moniz (Colmeia – 2022)
This recognition, which is now in its 5th edition, is carried out annually and, according to the NGO, aims to distinguish and honor citizens and civil society organizations, in the country and in the diaspora, who stand out in the field of good citizenship practices. and, on the other hand, have provided “relevant services” to the country.
