Africa-Press – Cape verde. The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, Olavo Correia, presides, this Thursday, January 4th, at the delivery of self-employment kits to beneficiaries of the Entrepreneurship Development Program (PDE II), on the island Of fire.
According to a press release from the Fogo and Brava Employment and Professional Training Center, 24 self-employment kits will be delivered out of a total of 31 available to the Fogo/Brava Region, in various business areas, from pastry, catering , beauty/hairdressing, fishing, commerce, ICT and the “car wash” project.
The self-employment kits represent financing of 4,500 contos, and the remaining kits (seven) will later be delivered to beneficiaries on Brava Island.
The Entrepreneurship Development Program (PDE), created in 2022 by the Government, has the strategic objective of maximizing entrepreneurial capacity, increasing access to decent employment opportunities for young people, women and groups exposed to exclusion in catalytic sectors. investing in entrepreneurship as a key factor in access to employment and family income.
The PDE is an integrated program, implemented by the Employment and Professional Training Institute, which includes three components, training in entrepreneurship, using the methodology of the International Labor Organization (GERME), allocation of self-employment kits and monitoring of business created and supported with technical assistance.
After delivering the kits, the deputy prime minister and minister of Finance and Business Development, Olavo Correia, visits the business units of the beneficiaries of the self-employment kits.
Olavo Correia, who arrives on the island of Fogo on Wednesday, January 3, for a four-day visit, has scheduled a visit to services linked to his ministry, such as the Finance Departments of São Filipe and Mosteiros, the customs delegation, as well as the Employment Center and the Proempresa antenna.
According to the program, Olavo Correia and the delegation accompanying him will meet with large and medium-sized taxpayers from São Filipe, as well as the presidents of the island’s three municipal councils, and will have an open conversation with young people and local businesspeople.
On the last day of the visit, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance presides over the inauguration of the Cosec Hotel building in the city of Cova Figueira, in the municipality of Santa Catarina do Fogo.
