Africa-Press – Cape verde. The work of requalification and construction of the existing municipal slaughterhouse in order to improve the city’s public health and the working conditions of employees will be assigned this Thursday, 4th, to a local company.
The act of signing the consignment notice for the construction of the municipal slaughterhouse will be carried out in the neighborhood of São Bento, located close to the pigsty that will be subject to requalification and transformation into a slaughterhouse.
The construction of this infrastructure was scheduled for 2023 and was the subject of two public tenders for the selection of companies, with the city council increasing the initial value of the first tender, going from 30 thousand to 35 thousand contos, an increase of around of 20 percent (%).
Contributing to the improvement of hygiene and working conditions for users of the space, increasing the number of users who use the slaughterhouse and reducing killings on public roads are some of the objectives sought with the construction of the remodeled municipal slaughterhouse.
The construction of the municipal slaughterhouse will be under the responsibility of the civil construction company, Adimar Engenharia.
The remodeling/construction of the municipal slaughterhouse in the same space where the municipal pigsty was located will allow the pigsty to be moved to another space and, in this way, the city council will resolve one of the old demands of the population of São Bento and other neighborhoods close to the pigsty.
