Africa-Press – Cape verde. The Cultural Heritage Institute (IPC), in partnership with the Spanish Cooperation Agency (AECID), is offering a training cycle in Underwater Archaeology and Accessibility in Museums from August 25th to 29th as part of the ACERCA Program.
According to a government press release cited by Inforpress, the training aims to strengthen technical skills for the recording and preservation of submerged heritage assets, as well as introduce strategies that ensure the adaptation of national museums to international standards of inclusion and cultural participation.
The initial activities will take place in two different locations: the Underwater Archaeology training at the Cultural Heritage Institute, and the Museum Accessibility training at AECID.
According to the document, this training cycle will also include, in September, courses on Cultural Heritage Management in the Context of Climate Change and Risks, as well as Collection Inventory and Digitization.
It aims to consolidate investment in the technical training of professionals in the sector and in the alignment of national cultural policies with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The training will be held at the Spanish Cooperation Agency, located in the Spanish Embassy building in Achada Santo António, and the opening will be presided over by the Minister of Culture and Creative Industries, Augusto Veiga, according to a source from this newspaper.
