Africa-Press – Cape verde. The Porto Novo City Hall praised this Saturday the contribution of companies based in the municipality to clearing and cleaning access roads, contributing to the safety, mobility, and well-being of residents.
The city government, in a statement cited by Inforpress, said that the companies have demonstrated “the spirit of solidarity and social responsibility” by voluntarily and tirelessly collaborating in street clearing and cleaning operations.
“Their contribution has been essential to ensuring the safety, mobility, and well-being of our population, especially at a time when unity and mutual support become even more valuable,” the same source noted.
However, residents, via social media, have complained about the city government’s delay in repairing ditches and potholes in the streets, especially those where traffic is heaviest.
Residents believe that almost two weeks after the rains, the problems of potholes, ditches, and the removal of floodwaters on the main roads should have already been resolved.
The damage recorded in the municipality of Porto Novo was estimated at approximately 140 thousand contos, according to this newspaper’s source.
