Santo Antão Enters New Era in Administration Says Mayor

Africa-Press – Cape verde. Paul’s mayor, Adilson Fernandes, said this Friday that “Paulo is entering a new era in its administrative and institutional history” by inaugurating the One-Stop Shop, a “powerful” instrument of citizenship, transparency, and local development.

Adilson Fernandes, speaking at the inauguration of the city hall’s One-Stop Shop, emphasized that the installation of this service marks “a historic moment” in local governance, clearly reflecting the executive branch’s commitment to modernizing and transforming municipal administration.

According to the mayor, Paulo was the only one of the country’s 22 municipalities without a One-Stop Shop, a gap he considered has now been overcome with a project completed in just six months, the result of a “strong and determined partnership” with the State’s National Modernization Directorate.

“We are facing a true revolution in municipal services. Anyone who knew this space in the past knows that today’s reality is incomparable. Paul is no longer a backup and is proudly and confidently at the forefront of administrative modernization in Cape Verde,” he emphasized.

According to the politician, the One-Stop Shop now brings together various municipal services in a single space, allowing the population to simplify procedures, reduce bureaucracy, save time and resources, and benefit from integrated, high-quality service.

For Adilson Fernandes, this is “a real gain for Paul,” as the project strengthens citizens’ trust in institutions and helps attract more partnerships and investments.

“This is not just a physical counter; it is the symbol of a new way of governing: modern, inclusive, and results-oriented. Paul shows that he knows how to dream big and turn dreams into reality,” the mayor emphasized, adding that administrative modernization was a clear priority from the beginning of his term.

The mayor assured that the municipality “celebrates today another firm, solid, and meaningful step” and reaffirmed its commitment to continue working with dedication and a sense of mission so that every São Paulo resident feels recognized in this process.

“May this One-Stop Shop be the starting point for a new phase of municipal governance that is closer, more modern, and always at the service of the population,” he said.

In turn, the Minister of State Modernization, Eurico Monteiro, said that “this inauguration of the Service Desk is a good example of the spirit of cooperation between the Central and Local Administrations,” adding that proximity to citizens is essential to transforming Public Administration and improving service efficiency.

The minister also emphasized that, with the new space, residents now have access to various services in one place, benefiting from greater agility, simplified procedures, and reduced bureaucracy.
