Africa-Press – Cape verde. A 24-year-old man from Brava Island lost his life today while scuba diving near Ilhéu de Cima.
According to a family source, the victim, named Edson Patrick Andrade, went fishing with his uncle that morning but drowned during the fishing trip.
According to the same source, the young man dove the first time and managed to bring in fish, but after diving a second time, he never resurfaced.
“He dove and spent a long time without resurfacing. His companion realized something was wrong and went for help. When the authorities arrived, the young man was found dead,” he said.
Last August, a fisherman named Djodji also went fishing near this islet, but he disappeared. To date, his body has not been found; only the boat he was in has been recovered.
