Africa-Press – Cape verde. The governments of Cape Verde and Morocco strengthened their existing friendship and cooperation relations in Rabat on Monday, the 22nd, aiming to expand the partnership between the two countries, particularly in the areas of transportation and logistics.
Cape Verde was represented by the Minister of Tourism and Transportation, José Luís Sá Nogueira, and the Kingdom of Morocco was represented at this working meeting by its Minister of Transportation and Logistics, Abdessamad Kayouh.
According to the government statement, “during the meeting, the importance of air connectivity in promoting the economy, tourism, and investment was highlighted,” and Cape Verde welcomed the positive dynamics of air links between the two countries.
Royal Air Maroc operates direct flights between Casablanca and Praia (five times a week) and, more recently, between Casablanca and Sal (twice a week), routes that “strengthen tourism, trade, and cargo transportation, creating new business opportunities and facilitating mobility between the two states.”
The delegations, according to the source, analyzed new prospects for cooperation, particularly in the logistics sector, recognized as essential for boosting trade flows and attracting investment to Cape Verde.
At this meeting, Cape Verde and Morocco expressed their intention to intensify the exchange of experiences and best practices, with a view to strengthening cooperation in the training of Cape Verdean pilots and air traffic controllers, who could benefit from specialized programs in this Maghreb country.
