Africa-Press – Cape verde. Rohan Shearer won Cape Verde’s first men’s gold medal today at the Zone 2 African Swimming Championships, according to the Cape Verdean Swimming Federation.

Cape Verde began its participation in the Zone II African Championships in Ghana today, which runs until Sunday, the 5th, with 10 athletes selected to compete in individual events and relays.

Leo Messi, Bruno Andrade, and Filipe Mendes debut today in the 100-meter breaststroke, Rohan Shearer and Leo Messi in the 200-meter freestyle, while Rohan Shearer, Ari Gabriel, Myles Gonçalves, Pedro Batalha, and Bruno Andrade compete in the 50-meter backstroke.

The selected athletes come from UD Praia, Escola São Filipe (Fogo), Escola Jandir do Sal, Commonwealth Swimming (United States of America), and TAC Titans (Portugal).

Cape Verde, according to the official event calendar, will be competing in the 50, 100, 200 and 400 meter freestyle, 50, 100 and 200 meter breaststroke, 50 and 100 meter backstroke, 50 meter butterfly, 400 meter medley.
