Africa-Press – Cape verde. The mayor of Brava, Amândio Brito, guaranteed on Friday that the requalification works on Rua Direita, in Nova Sintra, will begin in the first week of November.
Speaking to Inforpress, Amândio Brito explained that the funds for the project were made available in mid-July, but they preferred not to proceed with the works due to the arrival of the rainy season.
“At the time, I was advised that the work should not be carried out during the rainy season, this in conjunction with the Ministry of Infrastructure, and therefore we understood that the work should only be resumed after this period, and with the same company that won the bid,” he explained.
According to the mayor, the work should be completed in 2023; however, he added that the city hall has already held a meeting with the contractor, who has shown willingness to begin the work.
“We already have the entire work plan organized and next week we will definitely begin the works, and we believe that before Christmas the street will be completely renovated,” he concluded.
