Africa-Press – Cape verde. The city of Praia will host the 1st Cape Verde Agribusiness Investment Forum (FIACV 2025) on the 13th and 14th of this month to discuss the future of the national agricultural sector and identify investment opportunities.

Promoted by the Government, through the Ministries of Agriculture and Environment (MAA) and the Ministry of Investment Promotion and Business Development (MPIFE), the initiative also aims to foster public-private partnerships focused on productive transformation, food security, and sustainable rural development.

According to a press release from the Executive branch, the forum will bring together various national and international stakeholders linked to the sector for two days to reflect on the challenges and opportunities of Cape Verdean agribusiness.

The topics to be highlighted, according to the same source, include financing, technological innovation in agriculture, water and energy efficiency, valorization of local products, modernization of agricultural infrastructure and logistics, and the role of the private sector in the growth of agricultural production.

The FIACV precedes the Cape Verde Agricultural Fair (FACV 2025), scheduled for November 14-16 at the same location, creating a direct link between strategic debate and the practical demonstration of the sector’s potential.

This dual event, “Thinking about agribusiness at the Forum and experiencing it at the Fair,” symbolizes the Government’s commitment to creating an environment conducive to innovation, sustainable investment, and strengthening the country’s rural economy, according to the press release.

The event will be held at the facilities of the Directorate-General for Agriculture, Forestry and Livestock (DGASP) in Achada São Filipe, and the opening ceremony will be presided over by the Minister of Investment Promotion and Business Development, Eurico Monteiro.
