Inforpress has learned that Terrimar, the University of Coimbra, and Bios.cv, an association focused on environmental conservation and sustainable development based in Boa Vista, have decided to join forces in developing a strategy for the study and conservation of this species.
The aim is to create a national conservation plan for the common guillemot in Cape Verde, primarily in the northern islands of the country.
The population survey of the common guillemot in Santo Antão was conducted 25 years ago.
Terrimar, according to the newspaper’s source, aims to promote sustainable development and the rational management of biodiversity, involving local communities in marine and coastal conservation.
This association works to strengthen marine protected areas, protect sea turtles, conserve endemic flora, and provide environmental education.
