Africa-Press – Cape verde. The Santo Antão Sul Regional Football Association elected new governing bodies on Tuesday, the 3rd, at an elective general assembly, with the presence of four of the five clubs registered for the current football season.

Former referee Lenine Rocha was elected president of the board, as reported by Inforpress, with three votes in favor and one blank vote. Former association president João do Rosário was elected president of the General Assembly, and Manuel Gonçalves was elected to lead the fiscal council.

The jurisdictional council will be chaired by lawyer Augusto Fortes, the technical council by former referee António Abade, the arbitration council by former referee Irlando Évora, and the disciplinary council by former referee Hélder Mota.

The president of the council, who refused to speak to the press, had defined in his electoral platform that he would put the regional football association “on the path to excellence and sustainability,” promising a management marked by transparency. With this election, the conditions are in place for the start of the regional football championship in Santo Antão, beginning this Saturday, the 7th, with the matches Sanjoanenses – Académica and Tarrafal – Inter.
