Monte Trigo Residents Await 24-Hour Electricity Restoration

Africa-Press – Cape verde. The population of the village of Monte Trigo, Porto Novo, Santo Antão, is eagerly awaiting the resumption, “in a short time,” of 24-hour electricity supply in this locality, said the community leader, Rosa Miranda, today.

“The solar panels are installed, and the information we have received is that they are currently waiting for the batteries. We hope that, within a short time, the electricity supply will be stabilized in Monte Trigo,” informed the leader.

Inforpress learned that the 24-hour electricity supply in this fishing village is about to be resumed as part of the project to reinforce the local photovoltaic plant, which is already in its final stages.

The residents, approached by Inforpress, rejoiced at the installation of the solar panels and say they hope that Monte Trigo, which has faced electricity difficulties in recent years, will have continuous electricity this quarter, as initially planned.

The project will increase the plant’s capacity from 40 kWp to 100 kWp, thus resolving the electricity problems faced by 75 families in recent years.

In addition to Monte Trigo, the Government is also investing in improving electricity supply in the Northern Plateau region, specifically in Chã de Feijoal and Chã de Cruz.
