In March 2026, the interbank system processed a total of 169,378 operations, with an aggregate value of 30,096.2 million escudos—marking a 14% increase in volume and a 21% increase in the transacted amount compared to February—according to data released today by the Bank of Cabo Verde.

According to the institution, of this total, the check and related document clearing system accounted for 19,485 checks, corresponding to 6,771.4 million escudos.

Additionally, 187 returned items were recorded, amounting to 105.2 million escudos.

Meanwhile, the electronic credit funds transfer system represented the largest share of operations, with 149,655 transactions equivalent to 23,216.8 million escudos.

In turn, the Vinti4 network (ATMs, POS terminals, and Televinti4) processed 4,317,287 operations valued at 19,449.1 million escudos, representing a 7.5% decrease in volume and a 4.8% decrease in value compared to the previous month.

Among the operations carried out on this network, 748,993 were ATM withdrawals totaling 4,115.6 million escudos; 3,275,940 were purchases made via physical POS terminals, online channels, and Televinti4, valued at 10,102 million escudos; and 127,020 were transfers (3,895.3 million escudos). Additionally, 88,223 mobile top-ups (51.8 million escudos), 76,178 service payments (1,275.4 million), and 314 domestic cash advance operations—totaling 0.9 million escudos—were carried out.

Usage of the network also included 214,563 transaction inquiries, 993,078 balance inquiries, 285 checkbook requests, and 16,334 inquiries regarding the Banking Identification Number (NIB).

With regard to non-resident users, 496,132 operations—comprising withdrawals and payments—were performed on the vinti4 network, amounting to 2,991 million escudos; this represents a 10% reduction in volume and a 13% reduction in value compared to February.
