Africa-Press – Cape verde. Following the visit of the Mayor of Praia, Francisco Carvalho, to Paris, on the 22nd and 23rd of April, the administrator Auréaah Da Costa and spokesperson Eddy Correia, from the organization “Cabralistes” are in Cape Verde to make official the launch of the “Praia Nouvelle Génération” project.

The project, in partnership with the association “Drancy Nouvelle Génération” and the City Council of Drancy, consists of building a community center in the Ponta d’Água neighborhood in the city of Praia, according to a press release.

“In fact, a group of 15 young people from the municipality of Drancy (93) in Paris, after carrying out a project in Senegal, showed an interest in leading an international solidarity project in Cape Verde and aim to carry out actions to finance the construction ”, points out the note.

Young people and families from the Cape Verdean capital will thus be able to benefit from and participate in actions to promote social cohesion and the emancipation of the population with “Praia Nouvelle Génération”.

The association “Drancy Nouvelle Génération” and the organization “Cabralistes” want to be engaged actors at the service of popular neighborhoods in the city of Praia.

Thus, the project to build a community center in Ponta d’Água aims to welcome and be attentive to the needs of the inhabitants, in addition to other joint actions, with the overall objective of associating the different actors in the area in a dynamic of many attractions.

The inauguration of the center will be attended by young people from Drancy who will take the opportunity to develop local actions, namely the distribution of fishing equipment, the creation of ‘street art’ murals in the most disadvantaged areas, the planting of fruit trees and the creation of vegetable gardens throughout the city of Praia, in addition to cultural exchanges with young Cape Verdeans.
